We wanted to take a couple of minutes to talk to you about the part you play in keeping Brit Coms on the air every Tuesday night. I'm Ben French
And I'm Gemma French.
Good Neighbors is another one of those British comedies that really stands the test of time. Why do you think that is?
I think it's not only in the writing and acting, but in the way we are able to watch these programs- with limited interruptions. These are programs that were written to run in the UK without commercial interruptions and at NHPTV, that's how they are run to this day, but NHPTV couldn't do it without the financial support of loyal Brit Com fans like you. This is one of the occasional times that we take a break to ask you to help keep NHPTV strong by calling the number on your screen or logging onto NHPTV- dot ORG and making that all important pledge of support.
And NOW when you make that pledge, we have a special treat for you- our most loyal Brit com fans. It's called the NHPTV Brit Wit Club and joining our Brit Wit Club you'll not only receive the benefits of membership, you'll also be supporting the programs you love.
And one of the benefits of the Brit Wit Club membership are invitations to Brit Wit Club events. I know one is not to leave the tea bag IN the tea cup for too long, but at our most recent Brit Wit Tea and Screening I was having such a great time talking to other Brit Com fans that I forgot all about my tea.

That was a truly great event the tea and scones were delightful and the company was even better. It was really great to mix and mingle with other Brit Com fans. We really got to hear about their passion for these programs.
Public television has been the home for British humor on this side of the pond.
But while we enjoy the same jokes, there is one big difference between Britain and America when it comes to public television: How it's funded. In the U.K., each household pays the government about $230 a year via a TV tax for BBC programs. But in America, the government pays about $1 a year per American for this public service. That means this station has to raise quite a large pot of money from our fans and viewers - like you!
Airing television with limited commercial interruptions is expensive in and of itself, but airing a QUALITY television program like the one you're watching tonight takes a lot of time and money. We hope you agree that here on NHPTV, the finished product ALWAYS stands the test of time. These are the sort of programs you can watch again and again.
If you appreciate our time tested programming, please let us know by picking up your phone or logging on to NHPTV dot O-R-G and pledging your support.
Give whatever you feel NHPTV is worth to you and your community. We'll turn your investment into exploration, adventure, drama, music and information for everyone. You can make extraordinary television happen - make that donation today.

It's so important for us to take a few moments to ask folks at home to make that pledge of support to NHPTV.
That's very true, but I know sometimes when we're at HOME, my interruptions during your favorite British Comedy are far less important and can be well- annoying. Right? Well now- if I or anyone at home has something to say about the British comedies on NHPTV, they can log onto NHPTV-dot-ORG and leave a comment on the Brit Wit Club page.
It's a great place for you to tell us about your favorite programs and actors or share some Brit Com stories or trivia with other Brit Com fans. And another great place for you to share your opinion with NHPTV is at the special Brit Wit tea and screenings, like the one we just attended.
Yes, that was a great event because we and other Brit Com fans got to share our opinions about the current programs and we got to see some of the potential new comedies that could be making their way to this side of the pond next year. It's only $65 to join the club and you can do it by phone or online on our website. So please make that pledge of support to ensure that British Comedies continue to fill the air on Tuesday Nights. Thank you for your contribution and please stay tuned because coming up more of your favorite PBS programming.
